Class/Certification Questions

What can I expect from the ServSafe® class?

The class is interactive. It’s a combination of PowerPoint, lecture, video, and activities while using the current ServSafe® Manager book. We strive to make this the best food safety training experience you’ve experienced. Our trainers have years of “real world” experience and a plethora of knowledge.

How do I sign up for a class?

You have two options, you may register online through our website or you can give us a call and we will help you through the process.

Can I register the day of the class?

No, you must sign up for the class before the day of the class to reserve your seat.

I am already certified; do I have to take a test again?

Yes. ServSafe® requires you to take the exam every 5 years.

How long will it take to get my exam score?

You will have your score approximately two weeks from the date of your exam.

What happens if I fail the exam?

You will have to schedule a “retest.” The fee for this is $70. You can schedule this online or give us a call. It is an Exam Only fee.  You do not have to sit for the entire class.

When am I “certified?”

You are technically “certified” as soon as your exam is graded and you have passed the exam; however, you will not be able to obtain a license (in most cases) until you receive your certificate.  This takes about 2 weeks.

After I test, how long will it take to receive my certificate?

Your certificate will be available on www.servsafe.com within 2 weeks from the date of your exam.

How long is my certification good?

Each certification is valid for 5 years; however, some jurisdictions in the USA require certification more frequently.

What do I wear for the session?

Dress comfortably, business casual is fine. Bring a sweater in case the room is cold.  No clothing with obscenities will be permitted. Ball caps and visors must be removed during testing.

What should I bring to class?

You should bring a notebook, book, #2 pencil, and either a packed lunch or funds to purchase lunch.  You must also bring a valid ID to take the exam.

I lost my ServSafe® certificate. Can I get a new one?

Yes, you can log into your account on www.servsafe.com and print your certificate again.

Are your materials the same as those sold on the ServSafe® website?

Yes, we are approved by the National Restaurant Association® as a vendor of the ServSafe® materials.

How long does it take to get my order?
